Agricultural innovations include use of a broad range of food AND fuel crops. Expansion of our small-scale manufacturing base on Oahu is vital towards full use and no waste of our natural and sustainable resources.
CENTRAL OAHU PLAN
The Whitmore Community Food Hub Complex project represents a new vision of aggregating resources. Our Moku based supply chain and systems coordinate between growers and value added producers. Ecological and environmental improvements is an important decision-making driver.
MANUFACTURED IN HAWAII
Between Small Farmers and Value-Added Producers (VAP), they provide the basis of agricultural based innovations. Our focus on wood and woody biomass product innovations is a lead-in Zero-Waste/Multiple Use strategy.
Hawaii's sustainability plan specifies a secure source of food and fuel from domestic supplies by 2050. This requires a phased approach to determine the relation between crops, food processing, and manufacturing. We assist in transitioning technologies reasonable within MOKU based markets.
FOOD AND FUEL
Hawaii fossil fuel based imports will need to steadily be replaced. A Zero Waste goal in agriculture means that heat AND energy derived from biomass and agricultural residues is both cost effective and environmentally sustainable,
Inland Agricultural activities play an important role in our island ecologies. Mauka Makai pathways must be used more efficiently beginning with mitigating the loss of nutrients required to sustain our farmlands. To protect and rejuvenate our coastal ecologies.

Office of Planning
Moku or district is a land division that sections off portions of each island. After the Great Mahele, the islands were divided into districts. Prior to this, land was sacred to all and all who lived on the land used the land. However, the influence of the foreigners changed this system and land was divided up and deeded to land owners. Today, these divisions of land are still recognized. (def. from Pukui/Elbert Hawaiian Dictionary 1986)
On the island of O’ahu, there are six districts; Honolulu or Kona, Ko’olau Loa, Ko’olau Poko, Wahiawa, Wai’anae, and ‘Ewa.
